Happy Easter!

We spent the morning with the Dybash family. Cleo "gardened" in one of their house plants and then "shared" the eggs she found with Eli. All in all a fun morning and a glorious day!

In Christ we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace. Ephesians 1:7

A new start

Babs -

Tomorrow will be my last day at work. I'm leaving the 9 to 5 world to spend my days with you. I can't express how excited I am at this change. The last few weeks have seemed to creep by slowly as I anticipate our future days together.

I've loved my job - my team is great and I enjoy the projects. I realize it even more now as I document the work I was doing to leave in capable hands - part of me wants to hang on to see things through. But the larger part of me knows that you are my real work. You are the greatest opportunity I have to leave lasting impact in this world, the true marker of my success in life.

I've wondered if I'll be bored without the intellectual stimulation of a job. But when I consider your rate of development and rapid move into toddlerhood, I can't imagine a role requiring more effort and creativity and inspiring more joy in my life.

I love you and can't wait for day 1 of my new gig!

You crack me up.

Babs -

You are so funny. Your personality is emerging more and more each day. You are expressing your likes and dislikes. You are wanting to be more independent.

Tonight I sat watching you "eat" your dinner. Which entailed you rattling together a spoon and your baby fork, randomly stabbing them onto your tray. I tried to feed you with the spoon, but you insisted on holding it. So I sat with you, covered in potatoes and applesauce, and eventually decided to feed you with my hands out of a lack of alternative options. After a few minutes, I looked down at my shirt, covered in splatters of your food, and my hands, coated with potato paste and apple chunks and had to laugh.

You, my sweet love, are funny.

Mwah!
