A Day at the races

Today was Cleo's first day at the horse races. I wanted to take Cleo to make sure she stays connected with her roots. I grew up around horses, and was probably on the back of one by the time I was Cleo's age. My grandpa owned racehorses when I was a kid, and I have fond memories of being at the track, betting on the horses and watching them win. All very Hemmingway-esque.

So we took Cleo today, vowing that we make this a regular thing. Here are some pictures.

Oh yeah, I ended the day doubling the money I walked in with on a horse named Rosieontop. One of my grandpa's horses was named Proud Rosie. No relation.

First food

Yesterday Cleo tried her first bites of food. She had some organic rice cereal mixed with formula. The response was mixed, but she swallowed more than I expected. We'll keep practicing until she gets the swallowing down, then we'll move on to veggies!

Ahhh, technology.

Cleo -
As of today, this is a relatively hip shirt. Ipods are ubiquitous. I'm sure that one day you will look at this and think, wow, is that like an eight track or something? Ask me what an eight track is. Or better yet, ask your grandparents.

Four Month Stats

Cleo had her four month doctor visit today. She's growing excellently!

Height: 26.5 inches
Weight: 13lbs 11.9oz

She's gorgeous and completely healthy. Thank the Lord!
